Artisan Watsud is from Lampang, a beautiful city located on the banks of the Wang River in northern Thailand. Watsud is the sister-in-law of another featured AeraVida artisan, her youngest sister Preeda is married to artisan Somchai. She would often visit the local markets with her mother and sisters. She was amazed by the beautiful jewelry that the local vendors were selling. From these experiences, her interest in creating her own jewelry bloomed into a passion. She learned the craft from local artists and after many years of practice, she perfected her own unique method. She has turned that passion and determination into a successful family business that she runs with her two sisters, Malee and Preeda.
“Greetings from Thailand, I am Watsud. My jewelry is a beautiful combination of new designs with traditional influences. I love to mix the old with the new, to create something different. I love fashion from all over the world and this variety influences some of my pieces. I believe that beauty is found everywhere, so I try to look at all things with an open mind. I never know where I will find the inspiration for my next design.”
