Artisan Mary Jane is from Mactan Island, which is located off the coast of Cebu City in the Philippines. Known for beautiful beaches and crystal-clear waters, this island paradise is the perfect environment for seashells to grow and flourish. This is where Mary Jane learned her craft with her mother as her teacher. The family business first started with shell home décor and furniture. Over time, they have been able to expand into handcrafted jewelry and fashion accessories. This is where Mary Jane excels, her designs use natural seashells which are carved and polished into amazing pieces. Showcasing the natural beauty of the sea and combining it with traditional techniques that have been passed down from her mother, Mary Jane’s jewelry exudes a unique tropical chic vibe that is sure to look amazing on you.
“I have always been drawn to the beauty found inside a shell, the colors that mix together create something unique. Each shell is different and no two are the same. I love to incorporate different types of shells with natural materials like pearls, wood and colorful stone beads. My designs are a beautiful representation of my culture, which also showcases the natural beauty of my home. I am excited about my partnership with AeraVida because I am able to share the beauty of the Philippines with many people.”
