Khun Saraan spent most of his lifetime in northern Thailand where he refined his skills as a teak and rain tree wood craftsman. As demand for his crafts grew, he made the decision to move to Bangkok to start his handicraft business full-time and has been selling quality handmade crafts ever since. He specializes in beautiful relief carvings which feature classic Thai themes such as Buddha, elephants and lotus blossoms. At nearly 80 years old, Khun Saraan is considered one of the most influential wood working artisans in Thailand and has expanded his village workshop to employ more than 20 skilled apprentices.
