In Thailand, newborn babies are often given sterling silver anklets that are adorned with tiny jingle bells. This custom allows parents to hear their baby at all times and thus helps keep them safe. It is believed that the sound of the bells scares off bad spirits and protects the baby from bad vibes. This traditional custom is celebrated by Thai artisan Suwit who transforms sterling silver into this gorgeous pair of adorable baby anklets. Delicate flowers decorate these handcrafted pieces, which can expand as your child grows. Symbolizing a beautiful tradition, these adorable bracelets are a great piece of jewelry for young children..

Artisan Suwit hails from the northern city of Chang Mai in Thailand and has been practicing the art of jewelry making for over 20 years. With the help of her husband Withaya, she was able to open a small jewelry store in Chang Mai that specialized in unique sterling silver pieces. Inspired by the many Thai Hilltribes that live in the area, their jewelry designs are a combination of new trends with a traditional flair. Now many years later, their two children Chakrii and Anong, help run the family business.
“I have been working with silver jewelry for over two decades and over that time I started a family and raised two beautiful children. They are my inspiration and motivate me to work hard each and every day. It brings me great happiness to pass on the traditions of jewelry making on to them and hopefully they will pass it forward to my grandchildren, when that time comes.” -Suwit
