A sterling symbol of protection from evil, the Hand of Hamsa is delicately crafted from sterling silver .925 and features an internal framing of celestial accents. Crafted in the Chiang Mai workshop of Khun Katsaya, she considers these signature pieces her favorites because they create a memorable statement with the wearer.

Like many other artisans who have partnered with us here at AeraVida, artisan Katsaya is from the northern city of Chang Mai, which many consider as the epicenter for handcrafted goods and silver jewelry in Thailand. Working with fine silver is part of the culture in Chang Mai and Katsaya’s family has been doing it for generations. She learned the art of metalworking from her father and uncle, who were both talented silversmiths. She designed all of the jewelry for the family business her father and uncle started. She is very proud to be carrying on the traditions of her family into the future and to keep the family business prosperous. Through hard work and determination, she can comfortably provide the best for her family.
“I was raised in the fine jewelry business and I learned so much from my father and uncle. They were my role models as I grow up and I feel blessed to be carrying on the traditions they gave to me. I have never considered what I do as work, but more of a passion and a way of life. I love to design original pieces that reflect the beauty of Thai culture, which I can then offer to the world with my partners at AeraVida.” - Katsaya
